Raynham Athletic Club Masters Swim Program provides 1-hour swim workouts for competitors, triathletes and fitness swimmers.
Participants should be proficient at freestyle and be able to swim 500 yards in 10 minutes or less before enrolling. Other strokes will be used during the workout. Masters swimming is open to all swimmers regardless of your affiliation to the club. If you are visiting the club or if you’d like to try a workout before joining, drop-in workouts are available at a cost of $20 per day (if spots are available).
We’d love to have you join us! Swim session enrollment is for 4 – 8 weeks. For more information on registration and/or secure your slot, please call the club.

There are a few factors to take into consideration including how long you’ve been out of the water, your general fitness level, and your previous swim experience. We have a wide range of abilities on the team, so if you aren’t sure if Masters is right for you, we offer some one-on-one swim lessons, and support to get you into the flow of masters swimming. Inquire to set these up with our Master swim instructor.
Depending on your interval, the workouts range between 2,000-3,500 yards in an hour. There is usually a warm up with your choice of swimming, a warm up set with some drills or kicking, and then a main set. The workouts vary to focus on distance, sprint or stroke. Some are a mixture to keep everyone engaged. Due to covid guidelines, we have 2 swimmers per lane (12 total), with each swimmer ending and starting their swim intervals at opposite sides of the pool.
Yes, Shannon Porges, is our current Master Swim Coach .
Currently our program is set for Tuesday evenings 6:30-7:30 pm.
We have a variety of intervals at each practice and we generally have 6 lanes available. The intervals range from about 1:30 to 2:20 so there’s room for everyone!
Once you get on deck, be sure to bring your own equipment if possible, but also grab a kickboard and pull buoy from the bins.
Don’t worry! Just call/email us and we’ll answer your questions!
