You can participate in lessons year-round. We have a dome that covers the pool in the winter. During that time, the pool is kept at 82 degrees and the air is typically around 72 degrees. Sometime around Memorial Day, the dome comes down. From June to September, we have an outdoor pool. The water is still kept at 84 degrees.
Anyone! You do not need to be a member. We offer lessons for all ages and all levels.
Yes. We allow infants 6 months or older in our group classes. We have our Tadpole/Tiny Tot class which is an introduction to the water. It is a mommy/daddy and child class. We do not teach infant survival swimming, but we do teach young children to be comfortable in the water with songs and games.
Signing up for lessons can be easily done online. If you have any questions you can email Michelle at msmollett@aquasafecape.com or give her a call at 401-743-6067.
Anytime! During the school year, we offer open enrollment in our group lessons. You can join the class as long as there is a spot available. We offer shorter sessions during the summer. You can sign up for a summer session prior to the start of the session.
Private lessons can be scheduled anytime and run continuously throughout the year, just let us know when you are available.
You don’t need much. A bathing suit and towel are the basics. We do encourage children to wear swim caps and goggles. Swimmers may be more comfortable with flip-flops or something similar when walking around the pool area and locker room when they are wet. We do require swim diapers (disposable or reusable) for swimmers who are not potty trained.
When you arrive at the club, come into the main entrance. Check in with the front desk and they will direct you back to the pool area. There may need to be forms to fill out if you haven’t done it already. Swimmers can get ready in the locker rooms or family changing area. Once you head out to the pool area, there are chairs and tables for your comfort. We ask that swimmers wait on the pool deck unti their instructor calls them into the pool. There is a sign with an orange flag where students meet for swim lessons. We ask that anyone not taking a lesson stay out of the pool unless you are assisting the participant of the class.
Other children accompanying the swimmer to lessons may sit with an adult on the pool deck or play in our grassy area and playground during the summer with the supervision of an adult. We ask that an adult stay in the pool area while the child is in the lesson and that everyone leave the pool area when your lesson is over. Use of the pool requires a membership.
The only lesson that a parent enters the water with the child is our Tadpole lessons. All the other lessons are swimmer and instructor only. For the safety of all our swimmers and instructors, parents do not accompany their child in any lessons besides Tadpole where it is required.
We require an adult to stay in the pool area during the child’s lesson for safety reasons.
Yes, family and friends can watch lessons. We do ask that anyone NOT part of the lesson stay on the pool deck and not disrupt the lesson. When the dome is off, there is a playset and grassy area for children to play on with adult supervision.
If the club is open we will have lessons. We will hold lessons rain or shine even when the dome is off. The swimmers are wet anyway and the kids actually think it is fun swimming in the rain. During stormy weather, we are required to close the pool for 30 minutes if we hear thunder or lightning whether the dome is on or off. If you question whether or not lessons are being held, you can always call the club at 508-823-5440.
Yes. Use of our pool requires a membership or the purchase of a guest pass. We have special offers for our swimmers to come and practice on their own. Please contact the club for current rates and specials at 508-823-5440 or you can email us at raynhamathleticclub@gmail.com.
If you have a private lesson, they can be rescheduled if you notify us at least 24-hours prior to the start of the lesson.
For group lessons, you are paying for a spot in the class. We do not typically provide a make-up class.
Yes, there are several options for adults. We offer private lessons year round for any age and level. Seasonally, we offer a master’s swim class for any adult looking to improve their swimming. As needed, we offer an adult beginner group class. Please check the current schedule to see if it is being offered.
We continuously offer private lessons for all ages that can be booked around your schedule. We also add classes as needed. Please reach out if you have a specific need you do not feel it is met through our schedule. You can contact the aquatics department at 401-743-6067 or email us at msmollet@aquasafecape.com.
